Shapton Professional Series #8000 This is a Shapton Professional Series water stone. The advantage of using the Shapton Professional Series is that they have 30% more abrasive particles by volume than other Shapton water stones. This stone has a ceramic matrix, which keeps the sharpening surface flat longer than on similar clay matrix stones. In addition, it is a very fast cutting action. The stone comes color coded for quick reference. Each Professional Series water stone comes in a sturdy color-coded case that protects the stone when stored. The case also is used as a stone holder. Just place the stone on top of the case and the raised ridges keep it in place. The rubber foot on the bottom of the case assures that the case will not slip during use. 8 1/4" x 2 3/4" x 1/2".
