This stone is named after a mountain in Japan where traditionally high quality sharpening stones have been quarried for generations. The Kitayama stone is a clay matrix stone with #12000 grit alumina abrasive. The end result is a highly polished mirror finish. The stone is mounted on a wooden base. Included in the box is a Nagura stone that is rubbed wet on the surface to create a polishing slurry. 8" x 3" x 1"
